Sr. Network Engineer-Enterprise

this is a permanent position and potential candidates must be able to work in the USA without restrictions

Group:  This role will be of one 3 Sr. Network Engineers in the group.  There is also an Enterprise Network Architect, a Sr. Security Engineer, a Sr. VOIP Engineer, 2 Sr. Systems Engineers and a Network Engineer on the team.

Compensation: very competitive base plus yearly bonus, stock awards and profit sharing along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Background: The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for all technical aspects of our network communications including network security, LAN connectivity, WAN connectivity, QoS, and VoIP.  Cisco technologies are necessary with particular emphasis on CCIE R&S- L2 and L3 certification.  OSPF and BGP are the L3 technologies of importance.


My client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with experience in designing, deploying and maintaining highly available networks that enjoys working in a team oriented goal-driven environment.  The individual must have strong hands-on operational and troubleshooting skills for production data centers.  The ideal candidate will have experience supporting networks that VoIP and video services rely on, well-connected remote offices on a global scale.  Financial services experience a plus, but not necessary.

Primarily responsible for the execution of all network projects specifically those involving the design, maintenance and new feature implementation of the firm’s global network

Support projects by other IT groups and business units that require network engineering

Install and maintain all routers and switches in various network configurations support VLANs, QoS, VoIP and advanced routing (OSPF, BGP) and security protocols

Provide Tier 3 level support in resolution of complex technical issues

Participate in a rotational on-call schedule with other members of the network team

Assist in the design of all corporate data centers and offices to sustain a high level of resiliency, performance and stability throughout the enterprise network

Identify areas of improvement and recommend solutions on a continual basis

Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all aspects of the enterprise network

Support all Application Delivery Controllers and the enterprise wireless solution including feature enhancements, security controls, and monitoring

Assist the IT Security Office in support of technologies such as IDS/IPS, SPAN aggregators, packet analysis systems, firewall design, and network forensics

Job Requirements

minimum of 8 years of experience with routing and switching in both wide area and local area networks

Experience in an enterprise sized, global organization with stringent requirements for network availability highly desirable

Experience in supporting network in a highly virtualized server environment

Experience with Change Management and Configuration processes, specifically knowledge of the ITIL v3 framework

Excellence in testing and documentation of procedures

Expert in Cisco’s product line of routers and switches including but not limited to: Nexus 2k/5k/7k, Catalyst 6500 VSS, 2900/3900 routers

Expertise with protocols including but not limited to OSPF, BGP, RPVST, 802.1q, SNMP

Knowledge of F5 LTM and GTM appliances

Experience with Nagios XI, Infoblox NetAutomation and Splunk a plus

CCIE R&S certification preferred; commiserate experience also considered

Engineering knowledge of network security products a major plus, including Cisco ASA-X through version 9, Cisco Firepower Services, Palo Alto, IPSec and SSL VPNs, Bluecoat Proxy
